Renewing your library materials

As the semester begins, we'd like to remind patrons that you can quickly and easily renew your library materials online.  You can renew items online through the My Account feature in the library's catalog if the materials are not overdue. If the materials are overdue, please return the items to the library.  If your materials are still current, you are eligible to renew the item online.

To renew materials online:

  • Start at the Hewes Library Catalog.
  • Enter your Username & Password to log in.
  • On the Checked Out Items screen, select the check boxes on items you wish to renew.
  • Select renew and the catalog will then generate a new due date for the items you selected.

Periodical of the Month: India Today International

Part of The India Today Group, India Today International is a weekly magazine which Hewes Library subscribes to in print only.

The India Today Group provides the history of the magazine, stating:

Muslim Journeys: Film Screening, Koran by Heart

As part of the Muslim Journeys NEH Bookshelf grant, Hewes Library will be hosting a film screening of the movie Koran by Heart.  The film examines the experiences and aspirations of Muslim children around the world.  The documentary follows three children as they memorize the Koran and tells their story.

The film screening will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 7pm. It will be held in the Barnes Electronic Classroom, Hewes Library Room 03, on the lower level of the library.

The Let's Talk About It and the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf Funded with a grant from National Endowment for the Humanities, in cooperation with the American Library Association. Our local partners include the Buchanan Center for the Arts and the Monmouth Chapter of the American Association of University Women.

Database of the Month: Teacher Reference Center

For the month of January, Hewes Library is featuring Teacher Reference Center as it's database of the month.  Teacher Reference Center is a teacher education database that features indexing and abstracts for 280 peer-reviewed journals in education related fields.

Teacher Reference Center provides a starting point to research a variety of fields, including:

Access to library databases is limited to the current students, staff, and faculty of Monmouth College.

Return to Regular Hours
