July 4th Holiday

Hewes Library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. The library will be open regular hours Monday, July 3rd, and Wednesday - Friday this week.

New Digital Resource: Loeb Classical Library


Hewes Library is pleased to now offer unlimited digital access to the Loeb Classical Library.

A searchable digital library of over 520 classical texts, the Digital Loeb includes literature, poetry, history, travel, philosophy, and oratory, published with the original Greek/Latin text on the left and the English translation on the right. Browse the collection by author and title or conduct a keyword search.

Caption Contest Winner

After locating this intriguing photo in the Monmouth College Archives, Hewes Library sponsored a caption writing contest near the finale of Spring 2017 term. Entries, vetted by several staff, were decidedly humorous, and a difficult decision for a winner was made.

Congratulations to Cole Downey ('17) for making the judges chuckle!
