If you haven't stopped by the library recently, be sure to take a few minutes to view Tradition of Leadership: Education to Enfranchisement before it's gone! The exhibit was created by Edith P. Mayo, political history curator emerita of the Smithsonian Institution, and has been available through the late spring and summer.
The exhibit is titled “Tradition of Leadership: Education to Enfranchisement” and was commissioned by the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Museums Committee.
Mayo is an alumna of Kappa Kappa Gamma, which was founded at Monmouth College in 1870, and a member of its foundation board. The exhibit covers the turbulent years in the women’s movement between the time of KKG’s founding and ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, giving women the right to vote.
